A Legacy of Elegance: The Artistic and Cultural Contributions of Bernice Craft DeCosta Davis In-Person

This exhibit aims to honor Bernice Craft DeCosta Davis, a direct descendent of William and Ellen Craft who lived a life that truly reflected the dreams and aspirations her ancestors fought so valiantly to achieve. This exhibit supports the Mayors Book Club, Charleston READS! Program Book Pick: Master, Slave, Husband, Wife by Ilyon Woo, in partnership with the Charleston Literary Festival.
The exhibit has been organized by The Jonathan Green Maritime Cultural Center at the University of South Carolina Beaufort with support from Toyota, Inc.
