Author Talk with Derek Black
Dangerous Learning explains how literacy and public education have long marked the line for black freedom and that the ghosts of the past still haunt us today through censorship and attacks on public education. While a national story, so many important events happened in Charleston and nearby communities, making our library a perfect place to host Derek Black’s talk. He is one of the nation’s leading experts in education law and policy and the Ernest F. Hollings Chair in Constitutional Law at the University of South Carolina.
